A Prescott resident since 1992, Judy is a business owner, educator, mother, and engaged citizen. Her two children, Joey and Sylvia Boyer, attended PUSD schools. She has been a hands-on health care professional for decades, including five years working with pediatric oncology patients. Judy owns the Prescott Center for Massage Therapy and provides continuing education to professional massage therapists nationally. Born in Chicago, raised in New York, Judy received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa. She earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology at Prescott College.
Judy was a prime mover in the campaign to create Arizona state licensure for the massage therapy profession. During the successful 7-year effort, she engaged in extensive legal research, helped organize a state-wide coalition of stakeholders, wrote grants, fundraised, interviewed and hired lobbyists, and testified before numerous state legislative committees. Appointed by Governor Janet Napolitano, Judy became Chair of the Arizona State Board of Massage Therapy. Judy is Past National President of the American Massage Therapy Association. She is a breast cancer survivor, an athlete, and a strong supporter of theatre and the Arts. Judy is prepared to bring all of her skills, abilities, resolve, and patience to represent ALL of the residents of LD1 in the Arizona House.
